Presentation does not change what a car is. It changes what buyers believe about how it has been treated, and that belief is worth real money.

Detailing that returns more than it costs

A professional detail, including engine bay and interior, is typically the highest-returning few hundred dollars in the entire process.

Machine polishing to remove swirl marks transforms perceived condition on dark paint in particular, and buyers read clean paint as careful ownership.

Mechanical tidy-ups worth doing

Fix the small, visible things: worn wipers, a blown globe, tyres near the wear indicators, a service light on the dash.

Each one is an invitation to negotiate. Removing them removes the buyer's leverage far more cheaply than conceding on price later.

Assemble the paperwork

Complete service history, both keys, the owner's manual, receipts for major work and a current registration certificate materially strengthen your position.

A logbook with every stamp present is one of the few things a buyer cannot obtain elsewhere, and it justifies a premium.

Photography and what not to spend on

Shoot in soft light against a clean background, cover every angle including wheels, boot, engine bay and any flaws. Honest photos attract serious buyers and deter time-wasters.

Do not spend on new tyres, major mechanical work or cosmetic repairs beyond the obvious. Buyers rarely pay for improvements they did not choose.
